Chuck Rizuto has accomplished something very few pro fisherman can attest to: He is not only a world- renowned flyfisherman, but also a Bass Pro fisherman currently competing and holding top honors on the Bass Pro Circuit. His love and passion for fishing and the outdoors is evident in the enthusiasm and knowledge which he imparts to every guest who walks through the doors of his Lodge. An avid world traveler, Chuch has searched out and conquered many a fine fishing destination the world over.

As an accomplished photojournalist himself, Chuck accompanied the great Editor in Chief of Field and Stream Magazine, Jack Samson, on many a flyfishing adventure. Chuck has both authored a book AND produced a movie specific to Fly Fishing the San Juan River. In past years, Chuck served as the President of the Federation of Fly Fishermen for two terms and has been featured on numerous Fly Fishing shows; ESPN-JAPAN with Mr. Ken Suszuchie, Outdoor Tips and Tales, TNN Celebrity Outdoors, ESPN with Jerry Mckinnis, ESPN with Ted Turner and Jane Fonda to name a few. Chuck has always possessed a love and passion for the San Juan River, which is exhibited by his activist participation in protecting it’s waters ,as well as the wildlife and geological surroundings of the San Juan River. His avid desire is to be remembered as preserving the San Juan as one of the top flyfishing destinations in the world!

Since 1995 when he hooked and landed a 12 lb. largemouth bass on adjacent Navajo Dam Lake, Chuck has also nurtured a fervent passion for bass fishing, which has ultimately led him to top ranking on the Bass Pro Circuits. In 2001 Chuck won the Sun Country Bass Championship in Texas. He also finished second in the New Mexico State Bass Federation Tournament. He was awarded Angler of the Year in 2000 in both the State of New Mexico and the Sun Country Bass Association championships. Chuck finished “high money” four years in a row in the W.O.N. Bass US Open, and also finished “in the money” in 7 out of 8 tournaments in the Western BASS Trail. He has been previously sponsored by Ranger Boats, Mercury motors, Abel reels, Cortland flylines and Diamond Back, and is currently sponsored by Bass Cat.

Chuck Rizuto possesses a virtual wealth of knowledge as it pertains to flyfishing (both saltwater and freshwater) and pro bass fishing. His utmost dream is to be able to share those teaching with anyone and everyone that he comes into contact with through his lodge accommodations, travel and speaking engagements.
